THIS COURSE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET ON THE WAITING LIST SO YOU DON'T MISS OUT ON THE NEXT OPENING!
You want to learn how to run a creative business, a profitable creative business.
The only problem is, you've started to work on so many different things other mentors, trainers and youtube experts have advised and now you really feel lost and confused as to what to focus on that will actually make a difference.
All you want to do is hide in your studio and create at least in there you feel in control and good at something.
Have you ever wondered why Creative people always seem to struggle with making money?
Do you ever wish you could run a business and have a healthy bank balance without the stress and overwhelm you are feeling right now?
Continuous knock backs is real for so many and our inner voice reminds us that we are never meant to be in business.
Who are we anyway to even consider trying to make that dream business work. I am not talented enough, I hate numbers and have nothing really to say on social media - this is too hard, its really not for me.
For many creatives, this means...
For a lot of amazingly talented people they quit their practice and head into a 'proper' job and loose their soul.
After all, Creatives are not meant to be good at business right?
Pricing is a huge issue.
I mean how do you price a painting you have been spending 2 months creating?
Sales are coming in but there is never ever any money in my bank account. Is it impossible to make money selling Creative work?
To tackle the pricing issue causes so much stress and anxiety we procrastinate and hug our default button...the studio. Yay! Home...at least we know and understand this process. Pricing will wait till tomorrow...or the next day!
The starving Artist is alive & well in 2021.
After all, Creatives are not meant to be good at business right?
Creative people HAVE to Create.
It is in our blood, it is part of our being.
We need to practice to feel sane and to feel like our true selves. Without it we struggle with life. Mental health issues start to seep in and the black hole of not feeding our Creativity in a positive way engulfs a huge number of practitioners.
For many it becomes the thing we do at night or at weekends when we can grab some time away from our 9-5 or our full time responsibilities.
The day dream is to be able to practice and get paid for it.
But that is just a dream and who am I to ever try to even explore that - there is a huge hole that is unfulfilled and empty.
After all, Creatives are not meant to be good at business right?
I am a serial entrepreneur and Tedx speaker who understands the isolation and frustration that comes with running a business. I was also a painter in my last life. I get it. There are very different drivers and frustrations when you are a Creative person running a business based on your own work...
Yup, I have been there and so have 98% of my students that have come through our Business school, our online programs and workshops ( just like this one ).
Don't ever think you are the only one.
My personal passion (bordering obsession) is to facilitate a safe supportive space for Creatives to understand the foundations of running a profitable online business.
But this is NOT where I began...
I remember my first day at Art College.
How could I forget that smell?
Acrylic paint...soooo good.
I was so excited to be part of a learning community that would support the growth and success of artists.
Jeenie Mac, I was so delusional.
I quickly realized that Art school had zero learning modules on...wait for it...the taboo topic in the Creative world... 'how to make money from Creative work.'
Yeah hard dosh, the green, the dough...how do you navigate that?
But wait...
Eh, bullshit!
I quit art school and began my entrepreneurial journey at age 19. Over the next 23 years, I built and sold two successful businesses, advised and coached 100's of entrepreneurs, and launched my dream online business that has served 1000's of Creative people to date.
Y'see something stayed with me all the way through my 20's & 30's...
I even stood on the TEDX stage to talk about this.
The Creative Revolution ( If you have 11mins go watch it! ) - I talk about how we need to change this age-old narrative, first from within the Community to change the future for Creative people.
And now that I have just over 24 years of business experience, I've made it my mission to connect and help other Creatives like you, to take their work to the next level.
Are ya with me?
Every day in The Biscuit Community currently 8500 members, the topic of how to price or charge for work comes up.
Conversations like: "Someone just asked me to do a commission and it will take me over 12 hours, how much should I actually charge per hour? "
Let's dive into a step by step tutorial that will uncover the best way to do this.
No more guessing, have a system that makes sense.
I am a HUGE believer in student support and Biscuit has built its brand on this core value:
COMMUNITY DRIVEN SUPPORT.
So having the opportunity to hit me with your questions, no matter how big or small they may seem, is non-negotiable for me.
When you are talking to your customer, you are not always selling to customers, in fact what you do in between sales and selling is often times more important , in order to build a loyal customer base for when you are selling.
These 224 prompts will help you build your content based on the 3 C's: Calendar Content, Conversational Content and Cornerstone Content.
They are intended to inspire you and motivate you as you practice speaking on your product and brand messaging.
NEVER feel stuck again when you sit at your computer to write content.
I gotcha covered!
There are limiting beliefs and fear attached to money and selling as a Creative.
We are not motivated to make money, that is not our driver yet we need it to continue our work comfortably and to feel confident.
The challenge is knowing what customers are willing to pay.
"What if I price myself out of the market, I will never sell anything and look like an eejit."
"How do I know what will be acceptable for customers?"
Let's dive into this tutorial and figure out the steps you need to take to make an informed decision rather than a guess.
" After Tara's workshop I realised that I was only scratching the surface with what I could achieve. It opened my eyes to online selling and gave me a plan I needed to make the next step."
" From working with Tara I gained the confidence and know how to break free from my 9-5 job and finally open the business of my dreams. This workshop was the first step in that process. "
"A few years ago I felt like I was going around in circles with my design business. I worked alone in my studio and after I did the 4 day workshop with Tara my future changed for the best. This is a fantastic starting point for anyone feeling stuck."
Simply put when people pay, they pay attention. In the past we have run free Challenges' and we noticed that most people didn't take it seriously. We don't know about you, but when it comes to our time, we only want to spend it working with people who are in it to make shit happen. By adding on a small fee, we ensure that only the best quality participants will take part in the bootcamp. The kind of people who are encouraging of others success and who you actually want to be around!
The dates will be published soon.
These calls usually last 1.30 hours - an hour for training and 30 mins for Q&A.
If you are someone who is wants to figure out the best ways to navigate your marketing to increase sales, then this bootcamp is right for you. This is specifically created for visual artists like photographers, painters, graphic designers, designers, makers... It is NOT right for you if you want a quick fix to earn money
We get it, you're busy and you may not be able to make it to some of the calls. When the group is archived, you will still be able to watch all of the content.
I love this question! And the answer is pretty straightforward: I don’t run workshops that are light on the strategy and heavy on the fluff. Instead, Biscuit hosts intentional, step-by-step business training that are designed to help you get a clear result and the clear-cut action steps you need to execute. There is also an offer a zero-risk, money-back guarantee where you can ask for a refund by the end of the first day of the challenge and we’ll return your money, no questions asked.
